Two of the scientists involved in “Climategate” – the e-mail hacking incident at the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, UK – have been emailed death threats since the contents of their private e-mails were leaked to the world. No further information can be revealed about these particular threats at present because they are currently under investigation with the FBI in the United States.
Many other CRU scientists and their colleagues have received torrents of abusive and threatening e-mails since the leaks first began in mid-November 2009. Tom Wigley, previous Director of CRU and now at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), Boulder, US, has been horrified by the e-mails he and other colleagues have received. “They are truly stomach-turning and show what sort of venomous monsters we are up against,” he told environmentalresearchweb.

The venomous monsters are the people making death threats. Must conservatives distort everything? Instead of condemning those making threats, they find some excuse to criticize those being victimized.
I don’t consider it a distortion. He states, “They….show what sort of venomous monsters we are up against.”
Aren’t they “up against” Global Warming skeptics? I think it would have been more appropriate if he had differentiated between the general “who we’re up against” and the specific individuals sending hate mail.
I am not surprised that death threats have been issued. I do not support them but perhaps ordinary citizens of the United States have been so incensed by Cimate gate by these “scientists” that they had no other option but to protest in this way. Is there any other way for them to make their point as the Establishment have closed ranks against them and their taxes are paying for all this nonsense?
What else would you have done in their place?
Thank goodness the Australian Senate have rejected their cap and tax bill and hopefully the US Senate will do that to their bill currently before them and will also refuse to ratify anything Obama signs at Copenhagen. Is common sense beginning to break out?

“…venomous monsters we are up against.”? Kinda painting with a broad brush there aren’t they?
So, with a word, skeptics of “Global Warming” are now “venomous monsters”.
See why I try to be so careful with words? They can be so powerful.

Excellent point Zenith. These are horrible people this guy was talking about.
What the heck are in those e-mails ?
