Barack Obama – 100 Days

Barack Obama - First 100 Days

Barack Obama - First 100 Days

Love him or hate him, what you can’t do is ignore him.

From the moment he won the election, President Barack Obama has been front and center tackling the very issues he discussed throughout the campaign.  Anyone who feigns shock at the massive undertakings of this president just wasn’t paying attention for he is doing exactly what he said he’d do.  He is doing exactly the things for which people voted him in to do.

A partial list of his accomplishments to date would include…

  • Setting a date for troop withdrawl from Iraq
  • Increasing troop levels in Afghanistan
  • Closing Guantanamo
  • Tackling the economic crisis with a stimulus bill
  • Implementing a mortgage rescue plan
  • Lifting the ban on on stem cell research
  • G-20
  • Lifting restrictions on Cuba
  • Putting an end to torture

In a new NBC/WSJ poll, “more than six in 10 approve of Obama’s job, nearly two-thirds view him favorably, and a majority believe he has gotten off to a solid start during his first three months on the job“.

And here’s an amazing number from that same poll: 81% of respondents say they find Obama personally likeable.   For a man who wishes to be a transformational president, that’s a number he could only love.

CNN has put together a video they’re calling 100 Days in 6 Minutes

(Real quickly and without a lot of fanfare because I want to go to bed and think of a new name, out of respect for Mimi….and my befuddlement at being called a “Poopie Head”!)

“Setting a date for troop withdrawl [sic] from Iraq”

Right. In 2010, I mean ’11….or maybe ’12…unless of course the situation deteriorates, then maybe as long as I see fit.

    “Increasing troop levels in Afghanistan”

Great. Since it seems the Afghan War has now moved into “Paaaakistan”.

    “Closing Guantanamo”

Now all we need to do is find somewhere to put those pesky little bad boys. Of course, everyone clamors for us to close Gitmo but no one is willing to take the prisoners.

“Tackling the economic crisis with a stimulus bill”

That’s a good one. Let’s increase the budget by about 4 trillion with a couple more trillion to sabotage the US Health Care System. Oh Yeah. And a few billion in earmark, pork barrel spending. Check!! Got that Economic Crisis taken care of.

    “Implementing a mortgage rescue plan”

Yep. While sticking it to those who are actually paying their mortgages. That should buy a few million votes.

“Lifting the ban on on stem cell research”

There was no ban on stem cell research. Just no Government Funding.

    “G-20″

I’m sorry. Exactly what did we accomplish there?? Other than gratuitously apologizing for being such a baaaaaaaaad country?

    “Lifting restrictions on Cuba”

Which won us a tongue lashing from the Castros that we really have done nothing and need to show more.

    “Putting an end to torture”

There WAS no torture. All he has accomplished is to empower our enemies and weaken our own security.

Get over it. He may have done some good. But I feel the harm he has done and the path to fiscal ruin he has set this country on far outweigh the biggest “leg tingling” moment you can so generously award him.

  2. Paradise Lost says:

I would not bother changing my name if I was you. From what you’ve just written here, your moniker would appear to be most appropriate. Slapping down a few worn out talking points (“couple more trillion to sabotage the health care system” CONSERVATIVE TALKING POINT #337) and thinking you have said anything of substance is quite telling.

Yes, do get over it. A liberal won the election.

  3. maria sofia says:

    DITTO!

  4. maria sofia says:

The illustration is fantastic! Great work. That would make a great poster.

  5. liberalsRstupid says:

I know the name is appropriate. But there’s hope for some of you.

Now, I guess you’re going to tell me that MY concerns over the possible damage that might be done to the quality of the health care I now receive are unfounded?

I suggest YOU guys are the ones that need to “get over it!” You whined and cried like a bunch of two year olds for eight years and now you expect those of us who aren’t infatuated with this President to just meekly and quietly roll over and take whatever he dishes out without complaint??

“I’d like to find your inner child and kick his little a–!”

  6. catlover says:

Why would you suggest that anyone wants to shut up critics of the president? It is liberals and democrats who are no longer quietly rolling over and allowing conservatives to get away with their slander and lies. You have every right to criticize the president. We’ll just point out each and every instance when you’re wrong. By your last sentence, why do I feel that it’s a debate you can’t handle?

  7. liberalsRstupid says:

That’s not MY sentence. It’s a quote from a very recognizable and VERY Liberal Source…..

    Don Henley

Now, I’ll wait for you to point out my “lies”.

  8. catlover says:

You put down the quote which leads me to believe that you think it appropriate that kicking your opponent’s ass is the way to handle criticism. If not, then why quote such a statement?

Point out where I referred to your lies. I clearly stated conservative lies. Unless you see yourself as the embodiment of all conservatives, then you misspeak.

  9. liberalsRstupid says:

(Please reference my comments somewhere else about you guys taking yourselves too seriously.)

Allow me to simplify for you:

Paradise said “…do get over it.”

Don Henley had a song entitled “Get Over It” which contained the line I quoted.

Ergo, the admonition to “…do get over it.” brought to mind the song and that line from an AVOWED AND ABSOLUTE Liberal! A tree hugger of the first order. (But I LOVE his music while I disagree with his politics.)

(And I won’t bother to point out that “inner child” is a euphemism for some sort of feeling, thereby incapable of receiving a physical action.)

Your statement was, “…allowing conservatives to get away with their slander and lies.” I don’t see that you differentiate any of us. Your insinuation is that “conservatives” slander and lie.
