Latest right wing crap – von Brunn is a Lefty

You’re driving home or to the market and you turn on the car radio to tune in to the voice of Republicans and this is what you hear.

You got that?  The killer at the Holocaust Museum  was

“…a leftist if anything. This guy’s beliefs, this guy’s hate stems from influence that you find on the left, not on the right.”

Ok.  Later that night, you make some microwave popcorn and sit down to tune in to your favorite cable news network…and this is what you hear.

Got that too?

“Well, this Von Brunn’s culture is a tribe of racist, anti-Jewish, anti-Negro, anti-immigrant, everything, and therefore he’s a phenomenon of the left, because racism is a form of collectivism. The right wing is individualist — believes in individual rights, freedom, the dignity of each individual life. But it’s the left wing — you know, Hitler was National Socialism, right?”

So, von Brunn is a leftist and so was Hitler according to some guy from the Ayn Rand Institute.  And if Erick Erickson of Red State was on your Twitter following list, you would read,

“holocaust shooter, like left wing bloggers hates Bush, Israel, the war, Christains, capitalism. the list goes on and on.”

And if you were inclined to read Erickson’s blog, you’d read this garbage,

“It is the leftists like Kos’s acolytes that perpetuate anti-Semitism under the guise of “if only we wouldn’t defend Israel this wouldn’t happen.” Nazism, like Communism, and the neo-nazis disease that stems from the former, share the common foundation of socialism that these same leftists now agitate for.”

As I’ve stated before, the Obama vitriol is out of control.  It’s stupid, it’s insane, it’s ridiculous.  Hitler was not a liberal and von Brunn was not a lefty.  Von Brunn is a fanatical right wing extremist.  That’s it.  And to clarify my point, liberals who state that von Brunn was a conservative would also be wrong..  Every political ideology has an extremist wing which at some point loses all semblance of its parent’s attributes.  Mainstream conservatism and right-wing fanaticism are not one and the same.

Limbaugh and others who have no qualms when it comes to spreading their deceitful brand of truth, can go screw themselves.

Through the Looking Glass

Was it not enough that the D.C. Holocaust Museum shooting was a tragedy in its own right without the right fostering even more hatred?  Not for some far-right commentators.  They’re now attempting to put the blame for the shooting on Obama for his supposed anti-Israel talk and for creating a climate of class warfare.  Here’s conservative radio nut, Tammy Bruce.

One of the more important positions of the president is to send a message to people everywhere about what’s going on, and the message of this president is: Israel does not deserve support. We are the bad guys. We have been wrong. We must pander to Islamists. We are grabbing our ankles. And what does that manifest as?

It is no coincidence that in the first — that it takes the first six months of this man’s dawn of a new era, Americans are taken hostage by foreign tyrants and Muslims, who happen to be American, are planning to try and have murdered people in this country. This is the environment that has been created by the American left.

Bruce, who refers to the president as “Urkel” and “B. Hussein Obama” goes on…

“Whomever the shooter is, there is no doubt the increasing anti-Israel rhetoric by the Urkel admim [sic] inflames and encourages beasts among us.”

Not surprising that Bruce did not quote any of Obama’s ‘anti-Israel rhetoric‘.  Here is what the president actually said in Cairo one week ago to a Muslim audience.

The second major source of tension that we need to discuss is the situation betweenIsraelis, Palestinians and the Arab world.

America’s strong bonds with Israel are well known. This bond is unbreakable. It is basedupon cultural and historical ties, and the recognition that the aspiration for a Jewishhomeland is rooted in a tragic history that cannot be denied.

Around the world, the Jewish people were persecuted for centuries, and anti-Semitism inEurope culminated in an unprecedented Holocaust. Tomorrow, I will visit Buchenwald, which was part of a network of camps where Jews were enslaved, tortured, shot andgassed to death by the Third Reich. Six million Jews were killed — more than the entire Jewish population of Israel today. Denying that fact is baseless, it is ignorant, and it is hateful. Threatening Israel with destruction — or repeating vile stereotypes about Jews –is deeply wrong, and only serves to evoke in the minds of Israelis this most painful ofmemories while preventing the peace that the people of this region deserve.

It has become obvious that regardless of what Obama says or does not say, there is a segment of the right which will do their best to distort and lie as they foster more hatred and divisiveness.  And as they do, the James von Brunns of the country are listening.

Letterman / Palin

David Letterman / Sarah Palin http://mariopiperni.com/

The Letterman/Palin controversy goes on.

David Letterman responded to Sarah Palin on his show Wednesday night after the Alaska governor slammed the “Late Show” host for a series of jokes he made about her and her family Monday. Palin accused Letterman of making “disgusting” and “sexually perverted” jokes about one of her daughters, including one about her daughter being impregnated by Alex Rodriguez at a Yankees game. She had also criticized Letterman for a joke about her looking like a “slutty flight attendant,” which she deemed “pretty pathetic.”

In a segment that lasted over 7 minutes, Letterman read the statements issued by Sarah and Todd Palin expressing their outrage about parts of his Top 10 list and then went through the offending jokes one-by-one to both apologize for and defend their content. “I’m telling you, I recognize that these are ugly. These are actually ugly. These are borderline…but again, in an act of desperation to get cheap laughs, which is what I’ve been doing for the last 30 years,” Letterman said.

Expect Palin to milk this one for as much as she can.  Here’s the Letterman apology/explanation.

Al Qaeda facing Chapter 11

al Queda Bankruptcy http://mariopiperni.com/

The tough economic times is having an impact on everyone.

As the global economy languished in the throes of deep recession, so, it seems, did al Qaeda.

An audio message intercepted by CBS News, sent by the terror group’s chief financial manager (a label used by Sept. 11 Commission), portrays a rare image of the terrorist enterprise: hard-up.

Mostafa Abul Yazid, who is also al Qaeda’s senior figure in Afghanistan, is heard asking an unknown contact in Turkey for urgent financial support.

“We are lacking funds here in the Afghan jihadi arena,” he says on the tape. “The slow action in the operations here nowadays is due to the lack of funds, and many Mujahideen could not carry out jihad because there’s not enough money.”

“It’s to the point where there are many martyrdom-seekers here who wish to sacrifice their lives for the sake of Allah, but we don’t have the means to equip them,” Abdul Yazid says in his drive for donations.

Interesting times we live in.  There exists a bunch of Islamic martyrdom-seekers who might live to see their grandkids because Bush messed up the world economy.  Pretty cool.
